Coming up on 37500 maintenance schedule
Coming up on 37500 maintenance schedule
What all would you guys suggest for a DIY maintenance. I've got oil change, tire rotation and checking all other fluid levels on the To Do List.
I'm thinking, maybe checking spark plugs (Anyone know good replacement ones if I happened to need new ones?)
Brakes seem good for me (no squeal and they aren't feeling mushy, but they are probably gonna need a change in a few thousand miles)
Also, I don't have my manual on me right now, but where could I find the torque settings for my vehicle (08 Lancer GTS).
Thanks

stock brakes should last above 50k miles, my brothers es has 57k miles stock brakes and there are no problems stops on a dime, my 09 gts has 30k miles already and breaks are excellent.
DIY Maintenance Posts
Hey,
I've made two reasonably detailed posts on basic maintenance:
1. There's a sticky on DIY 7,500 mile maintenance.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...ance-25-a.html
2. There's a post with pictures on 30,000 mile maintenance. It's not a sticky, but I think one of the administrators should make it one
This post includes pics for changing spark plugs. To check/change the manual transmission oil you need a pretty big socket wrench (I can't remember the size). It's all easy stuff.

There's also a sticky how-to on changing the cabin air filter.
You can also do an advanced search on my user name, and you'll come up with all the relevant posts.
Cheers,
Mark

Oh, by the way, the maintenance schedule should be in your owner's manual. My car also had a specific maintenance manual with places for the dealer to stamp when they do the maintenance.
Whenever I do my regular maintenance I save all my receipts for oil, filter, etc. and I staple them into my maintenance handbook. If I ever have a warranty issue I can show that my maintenance is all up-to-date.

I thank everyone for the responses. Changed oil and filter, rotated my tires, topped of fluids and changed my spark plugs (Couldn't find denso ik20's so I with with autolite iridiums). Right now i'm using the K&N recharge kit on my drop in filter.
Just driving back from the shop, i can already tell i huge difference in acceleration. I'm guessing the spark plugs are helping a lot. I can tell it starts up quicker. You should have seen my old plugs, they were black and grimy.
Domo Arigato!

Ehh iunno if i would of used Autolite . The handbook asks for Ngk iridium or Denso . The weird thing is no one carries them , but what i did was buy it buy the part number and the 04? Eclipse Gts uses the same plugs and i was able to buy them at Advance Auto parts .
