help me diagnose my evo x problem

Hello guys, my evo X started to act up on me. here are my symptoms, my rpm jumps from 3k to 4k sorta like a boost kicked in. while jumping rpms I do feel some power kick in then it stablizes and does it again at higher rpms. it will do this through 1st-5th gear. but I don't feel the evo X power being 100% there. there is also a slight high pitch sound I can hear from the engine bay on cold starts.

Here are my only updrades
BC br coilovers
rota wheels
cobb AP

Here are my problems
I had some allignment issues and my rear tire went out fairly quick
I now have 6k on the car and my rear tires are bald and need replacement soon.

I'm thinking its my clutch but my gears go in fine without any problems. could it be my rear wheels just sliping due to lack of grip? also if I just drive slow and easy on the gas I don't see the rpms jumping. any ideas would help. thanks.

did you load the right map on your cobb?
i dont think alignment affects your issue, wheel slip does not make your rpm jump.
maybe it's the boost kicking in because your right foot?

I did load the correct map. I have stock so I did stage 1 stock on 93 octane..the car had been running fine for weeks. My right foot remains steady and it has never jumped like that ever since. perhaps I'll reload stock map and see if rpms still jump.

Try putting the car in 5th gear at around 45-50mph. Get on the gas. If the rpms rise and the car doesn't feel like it's moving, you're clutch is gone. If the car accelerates fine, then I'm not sure what it could be.

Also, what type of alignment issue did you have that only your rear tires were worn in 6,000 miles? Did you ever rotate your tires? What parts of the specs of your rear alignment were out of spec? Can you post the numbers from the alignment print out?

got on 5th gear and car jumped that same way in rpms but I feel power when it jumps rpms. the car still moves and I feel like theres a jerk when the rpms jump. I will check for vacuum leaks. I lowered the car a lot using bc br coilovers and didn't allign and also neglected rotation. I got it alligned but they didn't give me allignment specs. I will call the place to get the allignments specs.

Dont blame a clutch that has lasted MANY people on this forum for over 20k miles. Blame yourself.

It's a wear item. No.

Though, really, at 6k miles, that's damn early for a clutch to go. Did you abuse the hell out of it? Is this your first manual car?
