19" tires question

Hey all. I finally got my 19" rims and 235/35 tires on The problem though however is that I'm experiencing loss of acceleration, and gas mileage. I know the down in gas mileage will be there since the tires are bigger and maybe heavier!?!? But would that also be because of the large tires?

Also what are the psi that I should have it on there? Discount tires put them on for me so I shouldn't worry right? Then someone tells me to have it at 37 or so ... and he said he always get 29mpg from them....

Wouldn't that be to high? I know stock is running at 18" at 32 psi for gts aren't they?

Weight is most likely causing the loss of acceleration, and the width+weight will cause a small loss in mileage.

Also, stock GTS is anywhere from 32-44 psi i believe. ~40 up front and ~37 in the rear should be fine.

But if the GTS with stock rims can do about 28 or so mpg in highway, shouldn't 19" perform the same? I mean the low profile tires should be less in weight because it's much much skinnier than the stock shouldn't it? I don't think my rims itself is heavier than the stock, even if they are heavier, shouldn't drag my gas mileage and acceleration down that much... down 5-6mpg!

Bro, you went from 16 inch alloys to heavy a$$ 19 inch rims. Its common sense to where your mileage and speed is going down a crap hole. Your 80whp isnt that much for 19s.

You should of weighed the rims before putting them on.

On top of the weight, you are adding more contact between the tire and road by running wider wheels. This will also affect mileage.

Thank you all for your respond. I drove to work again today checking the odometer and it said I am at 27.3mpg so it has went back up closer to the normal again. Weird.... Is it because the ECU is finally learning the way i drive with the new tires?
