Rumors about SST confirmed!

Bad news.

Just got a phone call from my dealer in Montreal. They had confirmation from Mitsubishi Canada that all MR evo's are not going to be released for at least 2-3 months, due to the SST probles that have been mentionned since a couple of months. They want to clear them before so they don't have to recall them later.

I was expecting a VIN and instead I got that news. Any other MR buyers got that call/info? Could you give a call to your dealer to confirm?

God, not another one of these threads.....
  • The MR is coming to the West Coast late Aril or early May.
  • Yes the SST is having issues, but it wont be delayed for 4-5 more months.
  • Dealers pretend to know info, that's been proven.

I doubt if it is SST tranny problems. They just want it to be a 2009 model.

ummm they just want to sell some of the GRs that are sitting gathering dust on dealers lots so they dont have to drop the price to low when the "better" MRs hit the market.. its basic marketing/sales economics 101..

^If that were true, I think they're hurting their own image and developing false rumors about their SST tranny.

It looks to be hurting more then helping.

This is what I have been mention for a while now, its been a blitz of rushing... I just wish mitsu would slow down just a little bit with all these product releases,
The RalliArt has this SST as well, you looking at a bigger delay of that possible.

I have faith they can clear this up in short order...

they are... hence the delay. and all you hear is people crying about the wait. either you release before its done and sell broken products, or you get impatient people upset cause they are impulsive idiots. cant win either way

My friends dad owns a local mitsu dealer and we had the auto show here last week so i got a chance to talk to him about the delay. according to him the delay has been caused by the sst. He said that mitsu spent most of their time ocussing on the "performance" modes of the sst and had relatively forgot about the standard drive modes. They have to work out shift points and a few other problems with the street mode. he said we can expect them in 2-3 months as a 09 model year.

You guys amaze me. If they hold back on releasing the thing to make sure its a great product, we **** and moan. If they relaease it half a$$ then we'd complain. Just relax and let them develop the thing RIGHT without all the pissing and moaning. Thanks, have a nice day.
