Mitsubishi Canada != Mitsubishi Motors North America != Mitsubishi Motors U.K.

Canada has always had tighter rules/release dates. Mitsubishi has only been operating in Canada for a few years now after totally pulling out in the late 80s so it's quite possible that they don't want lingering problems to give dealers issues or cause bad press.

The best thing about the SST auto is that I don't have it. Yeay.

They want to clear them before so they don't have to recall them later.

I was expecting a VIN and instead I got that news. Any other MR buyers got that call/info? Could you give a call to your dealer to confirm?
It may be true but I still don't believe a single word a dealer says.

Everyone thats reviewed the new X with SST has had nothing but good things to say about it. For example I just read a great article in the May Sport Compact Car reviewing it that gave great reviews of the SST and the X. I think it may be most prudent to at least withhold judgment until you've tried it yourself. Its not comparable to most other trannys out there.

For the dealer to call me on easter's friday morning, on my cell phone, to have me come to the dealer ASAP is a sign! They were expecting VINs for the 3 MRs the have on order this week, so they started to make phone calls and got the confirmation that the MRs are built, probably already on land somewhere, but they wont be released to the dealers until "SST issues" have been cleared.

I've been talking with them about those "rumors" for over a month now and they always denied them. The simple fact that they called me up today to discuss it personally, in itself, brings credibility to those infos.

You can do what you want with those infos. Maybe the other people who are waiting for an MR should check with their dealers to "pressure" the infos out.

And for those who say that all of us waiting desperetly for MR complaining are moaners... well when you put a 2000$ deposit on a car, you expect it to be available and in good working order. They obviously knew about those issues since the beginning so they shouldn't have taken orders in the first place! I organized the sale of my actual car for beginning of may... Either I call the sale of or turn myself to another car... A GSR would be good, but I prefer the options of the MR.

Jeez, now I feel bad.

Well consider it a quick education lesson, and proof that I disregard a good post and distract from the good infos to focus on the bad infos.

It isn't the performance issue really. I just feel like less of a man driving an auto sorry. I love the raw feeling of a manual and shifting myself. Anyways, don't get offended, I really shouldn't be in this thread if I don't like it in the first place. Just thought there might be good news on it...like it being canceled lol.

Fantastic clip! Exact motion I made when I saw this. I really cant speak for Canadian deliveries, but as far as the US is concerned, the car was given the go ahead about a month ago with the first cars probably somewhere on a boat or being loaded. It is theoretically possible that Canada will be later than the US. Its also possible that your particular dealer is not getting as many as they though or their allocation has been delayed for reasons unrelated to SST issues. Yet another possibility is that Canadian MRs have different tunes that have yet to be validated. Lots of possibilities

Ok I used to be like this...I believed any 'Man' who opted for an autobox was flat out a wuss and ***** wimp. Well at a family reunion last year my brother shows up with an 07 GTi 6 speed paddle shifter...lol. So of course I give him the business and bad...like you *****. your not my brother any more!, and your so out of the 'man club' buddy. And better watch out Burt Reynolds is gonna' whoop your *** if he sees you driving that chick ride hhaha and so on. Then he lets me drive it...uhh ok so I give in and damn if that little GTi didn't rock...and rocked hard in the windy roads of Idaho's Wood River valley. The car always had a gear when I wanted it and the tach never wavered out of the powerband, I was killing those tight little roads with ease,,, I was blown away and ashamed at the same time.
As soon as I got back to Nevada I went and test drove one...very nice indeed those paddles. Didn't buy one...not enough power and no AWD of course but I was impressed enough by the paddles that some day I'll have that MR in my driveway....for now the GSR though
