Traded my MR for a GSR!

So as stated I let go of my MR Touring (2010) and got a WW 2012 GSR SSS. Question, My buttdyno seems to think that the 2012 is a bit better tuned I don't know if it had anything to do with the sst but can anyone confirm if tweaked the tunes from 2010 to 2012? Other than that I am Loving being in a manual again but if I could I would have kept the MR I miss the BBS rims and Billsteins etc oh well.

You should have told them you wanted to swap BBS wheels and Billsteins as part of the trade.

OP: welcome to the GSR club. Automatics are anyways. Oh, and to answer your question: yes. The tune is different.

supposedly mitsu leaned out the programming a little. also the exhaust is louder so that could be it.

the gsr does put more power to the ground so yes, your cheek sensors are working properly.

oh how i miss that new car smell... if i had the money, i'd trade my 08 gsr to the 2012 sss. the interior of the 2012 sss is sick. i love it.

enjoy your newly acquired race car. that little grind from 2nd to 3rd is normal. it's the tranny tell you, "hey, i'm not ready to race yet, give me a minute!".

I thought the MR's have been around long enough that people would educated enough about them to not post this type of ignorance.

Enjoy your newer car op.

I guess its a personal preference. I have a GSR but would have bought the MR if it was the same price. No hate from my side. But I'd take almost any Evo in any color with any option.

Did you realize the seat difference? The non leather GSR seems to have thicker cushion? Or is that a 2012 revision?

Anyways, congrats on your car. Love the MR rims on the GSR. Just wish the MR offers a manual option.

I am looking to purchase an Evo X and one thing that I have liked is the SST with the MR model. What made you want to switch over to a GSR?

Any pros/cons in your mind between the two options? in your opinion.

What does the "SSS" stand for again? Sight, Sunroof, & Sound...?

SSS was a package that came in the '08s (and '10s???). Stands for Sight, Sound, and Spoiler.

No longer exists. It is now called Sight and Sound package and the high spoiler comes with all GSR's while the MR's come with a lip.

I loved my MR but I what let me to trade was that after 3 yrs of production mitsu still does not have parts for the sst anything happens to the tranny and its got to be replaced after warranty I didn't feel comfortable dropping 10K on a tranny alone. But trust me as much as I like the manual you cant beat the SST the super fast shifts I miss it but I am happy.

Ok thank you for the info. What exactly is included in the SS 2012 package?

Yes I really like the SST and the super fast shifts...with that said, I need to test drive the GSR to compare for myself.
