Most Hp on the SST

I was wondering what's the highest horsepower (so far) achieved on one of the Evo X's with the SST trans?

A few members in Singapore are running well over 400whp with turbo and cams upgrade on their SST.

I'll be happy with 400 to the wheels.

i thought the bigger issue was the overheating rather then what then just the dyno number dont the stock powered ones overheat around a track rather quickly?

I think the figure could be on the crank, & not the wheels, anyone can verify?

max hp isn't the problem...

its max torque - ie 3500-4000rpm...

Have the SST MR's always been overheating around a track, without upgraded intercooler or radiator? This video of an MR seems to show it doing well for at least a full lap around Hockenheim FI track without overheating. And, if it does overheat, do you just shut it down, let it cool down, and go out for a later session in the day?

intercooler and radiator won't make a difference. its not the engine that overheats, its the transmission. some people don't seem to have the problem as much as others, by the sounds of it. there's a lot of variables involved (driving mode, driving style, environmental conditions, maybe even ROM updates from the dealers...). it sounds like the transmission controller kinda has a mind of its own.

either way, word is that some aftermarket shops are working on extending the trans oil pan and adding some bits to keep it cooler. time will tell

over heating problem on the SST could be easily solved by an aftermarket radiator...whenever that comes out...

Or a small, cheap fan...LOL. Gunzo, why don't you chime in here. I think a 9" fan fits EXACTLY in the wheel well...almost like it was designed to be there.

Thats the reason..

No matter how big a cooler or how big a fan you put .. you'll still get overheat if you keep shifting up and down ..

I have my engine temps at 130C and 5 laps around the track and I never got overheat .. likewise a few other cars ..

Some had 2 laps with oil temp at 126C AND ATF fluid at 46C and it overheated ..

Granted oil temp has nothing to do with transmission overheat .. but it shows how hard we pushed the cars ..

Now that I have a temp gauge installed .. I'm inclined to believe the sensor for the SST is not at the fluid like the older auto trans but at the clutchpacks ..

BTW all the quoted numbers are FLYWHEEL numbers ..
My actual experience here tells me most SSTs are in the region of 320-330WHP max.. even the posted thread .. I've used that same dyno before and its a favourite because it reads very high ..
