I've seen a few in california, all have used the Cosworth MX1's. The gains are about 15whp in the midrange and only about 5whp over top whp. So for $900 installed plus having to get a tune after its not a whole lot of HP for the money.

im running jun cams in my MR. making 422whp for the last couple of months. no problem at all with the sst. the idle is lumpy as all hell but then i am running stage 3 cams so i kind of expected it and to be honest i rather like it.

Do you know which of the cams makes the best power, as your right, $900 and a tune isnt't worth it for 5hp

It seems if you do a turbo upgrade first(FP Red or Dom 2.0) the HP increases while the torque goes down and levels. If you add cams after that the scale will follow along. Someone in cali did the FP Red and got 382WHP and 320ft/lbs and then added MX1 cams and got 393whp and 332ft/lbs. But I'm sure you could go with more aggressive cams and get right about 350ft/lbs of torque if your worried about the tranny. Also you get the benefit of a higher RPM curve anywhere from 7600 to 8000.

we have managed to remove the tq limiter and edit the sst programing so we can adjust gear change and ferocity to resolve the slipping issues. initially i was getting a lot of clutch slip but after reprogramming it we are all good. so yeah no slip and no torque limiter. the car was done 3 months ago now and i have been using i as a daily ever since with no problems at all.

You removed the tq limiter? PLease post how you managed to remove the slippage as i think most tuners will want to know this. I want to put cams in, i am getting a tranny upgrade from ssp, but ofcourse tq is always a worry...

the guys that tuned my car spent a lot of time going through the sst programming. i dont pretend to know enough about it all to give you all an accurate and in depth response to how to do it.

not that any of this really helps you all as im in australia not the US lol. the man to talk to is Ryan at JustJDM if you really want to know how they did it.

I wanted to know what your times are if you have any. 0-60, 1/4 mile, and/or 60ft with the torque limiter removed. Thanks.
