Dodson clutches experience?

My motor is out and being re-built. Now would be a great opportunity to replace the SST clutches while the transmission is out. The shop building the motor is a Dodson dealer. Although they have done SSP clutches in the past, they are new to Dodson and it will be their first one. If you have the Dodson clutches in your SST, care to comment? Pros, cons…anything at all? The car will be used for street use 100% of the time. I'm looking for comments by people with personal experience with the Dodson SST clutches

I heard that dodson holds more power than the SSP packs, I'd say go for it!
Also, just a thought... since your building the motor, might wanna do that cooling system upgrade while at it

I don't know where you found this info? From all my reading and following the Dodson and SSP clutch packs, its the tuning part that is holding things back, not the clutch packs of either company.

Dodson 500 clutch packs plus install I was quoted 6300us$ for install.

SSP 600hp clutch packs/seals/install/ bolt on sst cooler and wired up 4300us$

SSP proven on jeremys MR yes (the car you actually own) 40k miles he said put on the clutch and all is mint. Dodson..has done GTR..Which you don't own

For the 2k price difference I was quoted I added the tranny cooler setup, surge tank setup, cam sensor, and a few other little pieces.

Your money tho, enjoy whoever you choose!

Price quoted USD 6300 ? from where ?
Prices for the DMS clutch is far from the prices you have quoted, may be if you broke down the actual cost of install and parts it might be clearer.

I personally use SSP 500 Clutch. Dodson claims that they can hold 500 lb ft, then please show us some proof sir. Which means real dyno with that amount of torque and no slip. I believe a lot of people are interested to know as well.

Lokey....I did the Dodson Clubman with Iveytune and it is fantastic. I use my Evo X MR as a DD and track at least 10 events. No problems at all and DD is no different then OEM. Even in the track heat of 90 F I stay relatively cool compared to OEM. No management issues at all and the HP and TQ are way up there. You can't go wrong with that setup. My cost including fluid was about $5400. Good luck!

Thanks, exactly what I'm looking for, someone that already has it. My gearbox is already out and I'm just looking at the extra labor for cracking it open and the cost of the parts.

Whoever told you that was misinformed. SSP holds HP Record in the Evo X MR.

Mustang Dyno:

542 whp/407 wtq

This is on a mustang dyno. What was your dyno Razorlab? Also, elevation, etc. and Virtualdyno doesn't count. Do you have a dyno sheet? I'd be very interested to see your proven record.

Also wasn't that car about 50 less whp than Jeremy's?

Proper Mustang Dyno, sea level, raw. It's been posted. My point went over your head.

I know what your arrogant point was but even that being said, your 410wtq was on SSP500 clutches therefore SSP still holds the record in both cases.
