Just FYI we are currently testing a new replacement sensor. We have it in a unit and working with no modifications to the tune or tcu to read the sensor.

Does anyone need one? Let me know!
do you have to take transmission out to get the damper sensor?

Unfortunately, yes. Apparently the sensor is only accessible once the gearbox is out.

As regards the spare sensor that I have, I am not sure if it is working correctly. Autotorque (UK specialist) suspected that the P1875 code was triggered by a dodgy sensor. They replaced the sensor but it did not solve the problem initially (hence why I thought the sensor may actually be fine). They looked at all other possibilities and serviced the mech unit which is the next part in the system that could have caused the problem. It still didn't solve the problem so it was decided that before replacing the mech unit (expensive) it would be worth replacing the sensor again as this still seemed to be the most likely cause. They did this and this solved the problem. That was 18 months ago and I have had no P1875 issues since.
It would seem that the sensor I have is not working correctly.
Best of luck with your P1875.
