I have my 08 MR that I replaced the valve body on about 5ish months ago. I just now have gotten all the code issues with my car cleared so I can perform a teach in but sadly I have yet to get any success. Whenever I try to perform steps for the teach they will either fail instantly or my car will rev to the normal 1500rpm then just sit there for minutes and stays stuck on executing. I am currently doing the steps as per the instruction of Kris from SSP: Clutch Ventilation -> Stroke Teach-in -> Boost Teach-In -> Reset Clutch Gain then go back and redo the steps in the order as a normal teach-in. Only code my car does display is P1890 (Teach-In not complete) and per the Mitsubishi tech guide says to just do a teach-in if the code is constant. Transmission was also freshly rebuilt by Kris but just had the issue with the valve body.

 

What is your idle set at? My 11 would fail every time when my idle was set to 1000. I had to lower it back down to 850ish and then it would complete a successful teach-in.

 

I am still on the stock tune. It idles around 750-800.

 

Hmm I wonder if your software is corrupted since you have to convert to the newer b151 software to do the teach-in for an 08.

 

If it helps any I have tried multiple different cff files including the new ones released by the guys from Evoscan.

 

DTC P1890 TEACH-IN NOT COMPLETED

• If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnostic trouble code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
• Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

It is judged that Teach-In is not completed normally.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Teach-In not completed
• Malfunction of TC-SST-ECU
• Malfunction of clutch assembly
