Downshift!

Does anyone else have this problem either super sport mode or normal in manual when I go to downshift coming to a stop if I downshift before like 2200 rpm it'll down shift but most of the time the car feels like its in neutral even when I downshift left of the brake give it a second and it'll go in gear or tap the throttle it'll go in gear just did a fluid change last months but car has 90k on it

Going to a stop, you know how you could downshift and revs go up but sometimes the car acts like its in neutral. I could be in 5th and downshift to 4th it'll downshift, but for instance I'm slowing down I hit 4th then try to go to 3rd usually it'll downshift but it just drops rev and I could keep downshifting, and it feel like the car in neutral revs drops to about 1k going to about 30 to 25 mph.

When driving in super sport mode, the car goes into a "neutral" state much quicker than the other driving modes. When driving in super-sport mode and coming to a stop from a high gear, at around 15-20 mph it'll pretty much go from 5th-->4th--->neutral, even though your dash display still shows it going from 5-4-3-2-1. So technically the car goes into neutral, but you can still preselect a gear, if you decide to get on the throttle again before coming to a dead stop.

I noticed in normal and sport modes the trans doesn't go into a neutral state until you are almost at a dead stop. In super-sport mode it does it way earlier, and I think that is the "sensation" you are experience.

I dunno if what I wrote makes sense, but that is the best way I can explain it.

Yes it is normal. I have a 2014 MR and has been doing this since new (it is still new lol). Someone also mentioned the same thing on another forum.

I wouldn't worry about.
