Question SST - Best Location for Inline Temp Sensor?

I'd like to install a temp sensor to monitor SST oil fluid temperature, I was thinking about cutting an oil line and using an inline adapter such as this:

Can anyone tell me:

1) What ID the SST oil lines are?

2) Where in the system is the best place for the sensor (presumably before the cooler)?

Thanks.

The sensor needs to be in the pan. The transmission doesn't even flow oil through the cooler until the TCU sees a 77c temp. Putting it inline isn't going to tell you anything.
