Was not able to find a thread that was similar to my issue.

When I drive in town around 25 mph, my car generally sits in 3rd gear unless I get over 27 mph. If I stay around 25 mph without it shifting for more than 15-20 seconds, my transmission light will come on. This happens quite consistently, but if I make sure to get it to shift to 4th and then slow down to 25 mph the I have no issue with the light coming on.

I also discovered that it will not shift into 4th after the light comes on unless I get up to about 35-40 mph (basically where it would shift to 4th in sport mode if just driving like normal). Has anyone else had this issue?

 

Cheapest option is to Change the trans oil and filter first.

 

I had my transmission fluid and everything done about 3k miles ago. I'm hoping it's something minor that I just can't think of, I guess I will have to take it in when I have a chance.

I would hope so, I had it done at the local Mitsubishi dealership.

 

How much miles and what mods do you have on your car? Any tunes? I also have an 2010 MR.
