Want to be sure - sst failure

I'm fairly certain my transmission (SST) is finished :

The car will shift into gear, however no gear will engage i.e in first the car will rev without moving

The car does not park (put the selector in park and the car will still roll)

There is a horrible grinding sound (something under the shift box) when moving the selector from any position into P (park).

This happened while driving about 20 miles an hour, I attempted to shift from 1st to 2nd, the car would simply not shift.

Before I spend the bucks to send it off to Kozmic here in the next couple of weeks I just have a few questions:

Is it possible for this to be anything other than the transmission (there are no warnings, no ecu codes, no service lights etc...)?

Is there a case where the damage could be so catastrophic its beyond Kozmic's ability to salvage?

Why didn't I do the sensible thing and just buy a GSR?

I'd want to hear the noise but most likely clutch .
Pretty much everything else would throw a code.
I can't speak for Kozmic be we haven't had one too far gone for repair.
sometimes starting with a different core is less than the needed repairs though.

gotta ask for science, what was your maintenance schedule and what fluid / filter did you use? Was it stock, or what mods did you have on it?

Transmission has been serviced every 15k miles since 30k, currently just under 100k

Cobb stage 3:

Inlet
Intake
Turbo back
3-p BC
Protuned

About three months back I did lose my even gears for a brief moment, there were no codes then either and the symptoms went away (or masked themselves) after turning the car off then back on.

The car will currently shift through all 6 gears, just wont move.

An additional question:

Are the upgraded clutches worth it considering the car makes 300/300 on cobbs dyno and I wont be doing anything else to the car - or are they more reliable than the stock set?
