My transmission got rebuilt back in May by Kozmic (excellent shop and service would recommend them to anybody). A few days ago, I got code P187a or “Gear Block 5th”. It went away a day later and Kozmic told me there shouldn’t be anything to worry about if it goes away on its own. The car would shift into 5th gear perfectly fine too.
Tonight, I’m driving, in 6th gear, and the light comes on, same code was read. I’m coming to a stop and I downshift and it goes from 6-4th. But it when I started moving, it shifted into 5th gear no problem and still is.
my question is, is it normal for this code to be coming on and off on its own when there is no problem? What could be causing this code to come up? Even when I was just cruising in 6th gear, it came up for the 5th gear which I found pretty strange...

EDIT: the light just went away on its own again while driving? So confused haha

EDIT #2: Well, the next morning, I was driving into work and I lost my odd numbered gears. Won’t shift into 3rd or 5th...had it rebuilt because it wouldn’t shift into the even gears. Now it’s the odd

 

Have had the same issue for about a week! By no means is my car going to be covered under warranty, plenty of aftermarket parts and tuned. Wasn’t expecting an issue on a 2014 Ralliart with only 47k miles. Looking for a solution if you found one!
