So, I'm pulling my motor, and I'm to the point I need to separate the center diff/transfer case from the transaxle. However, all of the tutorials I've watched and read all say to thread an M8x1.25 bolt into the left front axle stub and pop it out with a slide hammer, and unless I'm mistaken those tutorials are based on manual transmission cars...
Anyway, my problem is, when I try to do what all the tutorials say, I find that my left front axle stub has no threaded hole. So, I cannot thread in an M8x1.25 bolt to pop it out. I did see 1 post made several years ago that mentioned popping out the right front axle to separate the center diff and SST. Does any one know if this is accurate?

The answer is, yes. I don't know if this is for all TC-SST cars, but mine didn't have the threaded axle stub on the left side. There was a threaded axle stub on the right side, and removing that one allowed me to separate the transfer case/center diff from the transaxle...
