I will be signing up for a late summer event or early fall (cooler weather is nicer for the engine ) Anyway, my mom's fiance is an instructor there and he said the new track is now open for FATTs.

Are you registered for any of the FATTs yet?

They built a brand new track right next to the old one. Tony (my mom's fiance) tested on the track a few weeks ago and he said it is really challenging. He wasn't sure if they were going to open it for FATTs because of how difficult it is. They may only use it for SCCA runoffs and other races with experienced racers.

I assume you're not talking about the Jefferson track.

Wow - a third track - very cool!

Have you looked at the plans for Thunderbolt Racetrack in NJ? Phase 1 should be started soon & completed by next year

Yeah a 3rd track. I can't think of the name right now. I have heard about the track in New Jersey but have yet to see any plans. Have you? If so where?

By the way are you into autocrossing??

The name is Shenandoah - I'll probably sign up for a FATT on that new track.

No - never autox before. Not really sure if I'm interested - probably have to at least check one out

Where about in PA are ya?

what does FATT's stand for? I live like 30 mins away from summit point and would be VERY interested in taking my MR on the track

how much does it cost and what do I have to do? I really want to set up a date... maybe we can get a bunch of local evos to go

It is $175 for a full day. That includes 4 20 minute sessions around the track with an instuctor. There is also 4 (I think, I can't remember) class room sessions where the instructor goes over basic racing skills and rules of the track and best turn and braking points, etc....

Meanmud:

I am about 30 minutes north of Philly in Bucks County (Sellersville to be exact). If you like FATTs you'll love Autox. Think of it a small time attack course. Typically you will get 4 to 5 runs to get your best time. You are basically racing against the clock. There are a million classes and it is run by SCCA.

I raced the majority of last season in my Evo and loved every minute of it, plus it is a whole lot cheaper than FATTs. It is $35 for all day. The races are held in large parking lots with cones setup in all different configurations.

The closest event to you that I know of would be Boeing Helicopter's plant in Philly and Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD.

The next one is at Ripken Stadium on March 13th. Let me know if you want to go.

i think FATT went up in price for 2005 didn't it??

That stupid Shenedoha course does not look like much fun for anything but a shifter cart... it is very narrow, has about 25 turns and a big concrete wall right at the apex of one of the turns....

Jefferson is too small to really enjoy also.... not much runoff if you go off in the grass... you will be heading for a tree in no time.

Big course is nice due to all the gravel and other places to save you........ good course to get some high speeds and some technical stuff in the courosel... (i wish i could spell).

You definately have to sign up for FATT's early these days....luckily i can run "seat time" which has less noob's
