Makinen to retire?

So I'm surprised nobody is talking about this here on the US boards.

BBC Sport

Makinen has all but announced his retirement from WRC over the next year, maybe two years. Sure he's old but it'll stll suck to see that guy go.

good for him but i do not think he will win a fifth title, he is driving the wrong car

2003 they're sitting out. 2004 they'll be racing some form of the current WRC car and more than likely by 2005 we'll be seeing some sort of new car to replace the Lancer. said they might join a few events in 2003 for testing purposes to prepair for 2004 so might see a few glimpses of Evos or what ever their trying to test.

True enough. I forgot about that but they are effectively not competing in 2003, only testing.

Yeah, something about the things that happened to Tommi last season (like that snow drift that blocked his air intake and caused his engine to catch fire) make me think he got jinxed for leaving Mitsu.
