so no one is using the wear pointers on the sidewall for tuning their tire pressure?

I use how the tire wears but not any one point... I use a combination of rollover, and how the treadblocks wear on the edges, including wear pointers.

Baseline, i start 4-5 psi higher than stock, then go up based on the above, plus feel, and temps. (temps is the Best way to do it, also for setting alignment)

I will then ballance it with the rear pressures, and then fine tune the front as needed.

Errr...OK. But we're talking about track use here. Those are just the recommendations for normal street use (and they're very conservative, BTW). It's not a bad starting point, but you can't just blindly follow the manufacturer's suggested pressures and expect them to work great on the track.
