camera/fire extinguisher mount

Time to put a camera and fire extinguisher in the car.

I have the Sparco Harness bar. I was looking around and found several camera mounts for around $109 and Sparco fire extinguisher for $99, then I saw a fire extinguisher mount for $70.... this gets expensive.

My question is, can you just mount the fire extinguisher on/with the camera mount aswell?? maybe use hose clamps?... This way I could save $70....

If anyone has any experience with this, ideas/comments would be appreciated. I just want to make sure I am doing this safely.

tia,

What's so special about a Sparco extinguisher to make it $99? How many pounds does it hold and what kind of fires is it for?

You may be able to, but more than likely some track inspectors won't be too fond of this set-up. I've seen a few people with some ingenious mounting positions not allowed on. Most sanctioning bodies require a metal on metal mount, and a lot of people run with them mounted on the floor in front of the passenger seat. Check out http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store/track-safety. It may help.

Not sure... I guess cause it is a brand name.

I'll research more extinguisher options.

Has anyone bought a floor mounted (passenger seat bracket) that works with our car?

Brey Krause made one for me, since the runners are from Recaro and they can work with those. I just called em. I think I went through Northstar Motorsports in IL. They may be able to help. Sorry, its been a while. I tried to look through my receipts to find out exactly, but to no avail.

Are you certain its Brey Krause. They sent me two mounts that did not work (this was a few months ago). If you are pretty sure it was Northstar, I will try them.

Thanks.

SF, Yeah it was Northstar. Rene or Kevin was who I have dealt with there, but they may be more wholesale? But I can't think of anyone else I have dealt with for BK stuff. Hope you have some luck
