If you're still on stock tires and suspension it's clear you're not serious about competing--in BSP much less SM--so I guess you don't really need to worry about classing. (But the fact that you didn't know a CF hood would bump you already speaks to that effect.) A good set of coilovers alone will make the Evo much more competitive at auto-x than all those power mods you have combined.

Per 15.10.F ("Intake water injection systems are allowed.") water injection has always (well since this year at least) been legal in Street Prepared, and as far as I know that hasn't changed. The prohibition you're wondering about, disallows spraying of water, CO2, NO2, etc. onto the intercooler while on course. The stock FMIC water sprayer in '03-'04 Evos is such an example, except that it's legal because it comes with the car (stock).

You would not need to update to an '05 ECU since engine management is open in SP.

actually, I did ask Doug. His answer was you either need the complete ECU or reflash the existing ECU to the '05 spec. FWIW, From what I have been able to peice togeter, the '05 ECU has data on the turbo model built into ROM, that way you can use the scan tool and read what turbo is supposed to be on the car.

But I don't know how relivant this part is with the new boost control rules.

So, what's everyone going to run next year? I was in STU last year and loved the competition, but didn't like that I couldn't do more power mods that make the Evo so much more fun. SP is enticing, but I don't like the Evo's ferocious race tire appetite.

With unlimited boost control, this could get interesting. Now the limiting factor for power may be how good the stock turbos and BOV's are on different model cars. The Evo may get the advantage here over turbos that run out of steam at higher boost and BOV's that can't hold the boost in other cars.

I am going to run ESP/BSP next year. I ran STU last year and there was never anyone else in my class. Just kind of boring when you are the only car in your class.

I decided I don't care so much about auto-x, I'm just going to prepare my car the way I want for track days and time trialing. I took out the back seats and seat belt hardware as soon as this season ended, since they were completely superfluous after I put in the rollbar. Car is now in SM; chances are it (or rather, I) will never be competitive against other SM cars/drivers in the region (notably Vic Sias) but I'm having too much fun with it to care.

I wish I could do more track events, but the car is too expensive to wreck right now.

I am not serious. But I have fun. I have gotten a few 1st in STU before the bump to SM. I have gotten 2nd in SM. One guy running "R" compound's on a subi wagon got me by .5 sec. Yes, an AS EVO beats me every time too. He is "scraper" on here. But it's all good fun. I just hate when guys turn into beotches and start whining about BOV's and intercooler pipes. No one seems to know the answers when I go, and people just start acting like 5 year olds.

I only go to get a chance to drive as fast as I want with out getting a ticket. I could care less about points. I'm not even in a club. It's the weekend warriors like me that help the clubs afford to put on events. But, we also get the shaft because no one gives a **** about answering our questions.

So, I tend to go less and less. Because of the BS.
