Who runs Alky/Meth for track days?

Im thinking about adding alky as my next big power mod some time next year. I was wondering if anyone ran it for HPDE's?

First off, are alky systems allowed with most organizations? How much do you normally go through in a day? What kind of mixture do you use in the system?

I ran 100% Methanol. It passed tech Inspection and that's all I nkow :}

I ran 100% denatured alcohol at Putnam, no one asked about it. I went through about 2 gallons of the stuff to about 4-1/2 tanks of gas.

About what does the alcohol cost per gallon? That doesnt seem excessive for that much gas.

LICP is also on the list.

Looks like it runs about $10/gallon if I buy it online and add in that HAZMAT fee. That's not too bad.

I run 50/50% alchohol-water mix. On pump gas, I'm able to kick the boost up another 3-4 psi without knock.

Isn't 100% methanol supposed to be very bad for your seals and fuel lines? Its very harsh, and will eat away at a whole host of things.

You are correct but... We're not running it as primary fuel. It's injected/misted into the intake to improve performance. Basically its the polar opposite of nitrous injection. It allows you to increase boost and/or decrease your chances of experiencing knock. It also has a cooling effect on the intake charge.
