Rally Car Building help
I was wondering if there was anybody around that knows a fair amount about rally racing/car building that could help me. I have a 91 Talon TSi, and have some fairly broad and fairly specific questions to ask about building the car up for rallying. Mainly my questions deal with suspension.
Firstly, is it worth it to build the car up with its age? I know there are some age restrictions on classes. Also is it worth it to start building it up if I don't know how high I can go with it, or should I work, rather, on making it a reliable stock class competitor?
That being said my questions revolve around suspension after that, and kind of depend on the response to the first question. My suspension is slowly but surely fading away on the car. Understandable for a 91. I know a few brands like GAB, Bilstein, Profelx but have no idea what options are best for what I want to do, and how much suspension systems like that will cost, whether there are options that are affordable for me (below 2000).
The hitch to that comes if I should make my car a stock class competitor then I should go with the best stock/oem parts possible which I would still want advice with getting the best suspension I can and still be in stock class.
Thanks.

as long as the car is in good shape (not rusty) the age shouldnt matter, reliability is better, rallying is not cheap, suspension is priceless you could try Hotbits,
look on Specialstage.com and rally-america.com for more info on building
but you may want to look into buying an already built rally car
