cooling 101

cooling 101

havent posted in a while... also made a nice oil cooler duct out of thin aluminum & small rivets.... hopefully she'll stay cool this time out.

Power Engineering brake ducts - Check
Misc wrapping/insulating - Check
Motul 600 - Check
Redline Water wetter - Check
Redline 20/50 oil - Check
Custom oil cooler duct - Check

..... and I think we are good to go

Nils, I would be interested in hearing more about the oil cooler. What size, lines, mounting, etc. I am basically doing the same thing, overbuilding all the cooling.

PWR core with A/N fittings.

This unit was pulled off Robi's old beater race car and swapped into my car so I dont know the details as far as what the core & fitting/line sizes were.

I cant imagine it being hard though to make your own upgraded cooler system.

The oil cooler duct worked pretty well, over all I saw 10c degrees less

Here is a close-up of the cooler duct I made. Had to cut out a hole for the IC piping & lined it with rubber hose so it wouldnt cut through piping.

do you know the weight of the PWR radiator? Comparison to stock, how much lighter?

I think it is actually a bit heavier, it also takes in alot more water.

Thanks, I did a little searching, Warrtalon said its about 12lbs w/OEM being 10lbs. I'm just looking for a couple ways to take weight off the front of the car.
