More info on the track day:
The drivers will be split up into 3 groups according to driving experience and car performance.
- Lunch will be provided.
- Snell 90 or newer helmets are required. (Thunderhill rentals ~ $25)
- Typical track time is five 25 min. sessions (click here for tentative schedule).
- Full 3 mile track!
- Participant number will be restricted to prevent overcrowding.
- Cones will mark the apex of all corners.
- Event will run rain or shine.
-Car control exercises run the afternoon before. (see note below)
- Previous night dinner/social included. (see note below)
- Instructors will be provided for everyone, but with event organizer approval, drivers can be allowed to drive solo (advanced group solo by default, but some instructors will be available).
- If you are solo approved, passengers over 18 will be permitted.
Due to the popularity at our last track event, we will again be hosting some car control exercises through the cones on Monday afternoon before the event. Location is the Thunderhill paddock, and will run from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. These will be set up to mainly benefit beginners, but anyone who wants to join in (or watch) is welcome to attend. Braking and handling will be the main focus, and *possibly* a skid pad! There is no extra charge to participate in this extra event, and your guests are welcome to try it too!
Monday (5/26), at 6:00 pm, there will be an INCLUDED group dinner & classroom discussion at Shortee's BarBQ in Willows. We'll talk about SAFETY, car dynamics, the best driving line around the track, and answer any questions. Further details will be provided after your registration has been received. For those that can't make this, we'll review driver safety, rules for the day, & run group assignments first thing Tuesday morning as well.
