nice.... its like a spiderweb in there.

whenever I get around to getting a cage I'm pretty sure I wont have as many cross bars to save weight.

this one has some extra trick stuff done. the cage connects all the shock towers and is completly unnoticable. when you look at the cage from out side the car you see two bars in the back. it really nice.

this is what the guy that did the cage charges.

$2800 For the base cage out of mild steal.
$1000 for those that opt for all chro-moly
$950 to paint the cage
$850 For the Air Jacks/ NASCAR Door Beams
$1600 for all the Lexan ,Gutting out the doors, and installing an MR roof panel for us. dont know how those broke down

Yes i did spend $7200 on the whole thing and no he didnt include and vasiline. But it is the best and to not add any weight from the way the car was worth it.

If we had to do it again i would say just get the base cage for $2800 and then have someone else paint it. I learned my lesson on not asking how much it was going to cost and just saying yeah add that, add that, and this, and that.

I just got my EVO back with its custom roll cage built by 7s Only Racing at Buttonwillow Raceway in SoCal. I am happy with it.

It scared me shiatless to drive that car back from the track on major freeways. I had the harness on extra tight and more then a couple times I almost stopped so I could get my helmet out of my car on the trailer to wear on the street. I was paranoid the whole drive home.

Looking back, it was probably a really stupid thing to do because you never know what might happen. If a car had hit me on the way home I would probably be a vegetable right now or dead. A real cage has bars pretty damn close to your head and even the harness wouldn't stop your head from contacting them and splitting open like a melon.

That said, thanks again Marshall!
This may sound stupid, but is it illegal to drive w/ a helmet on the street in this situation? Having a helmet in this situation would probably be a safer alternative compared to getting your head split open in an accident.
