Well to start there's the budget......
And that car has its complete own race season that gives the car such an advanteage its unbeleivable. Think about it. The time attack and maybe a few test and tune days are all that the "tuners" get to dial in their car. The man and track hours behind the GMG car are probably equal to almost every other car out their combined.......

you think all the custom work on the jic car and ams car was free?
and whats stopping tooner cars from getting track time?.. a test day is WAY cheaper than running a spreed gt date.

that motor prob has a full season of speedgt on it.. and im sure they dindt rebuild it for redline time attacks... its like a 30k rebuild from porsche.... so its prob a little hurt...

yeah.. anyone who says that car had an unfair advantage is confused.
I'm assuming they were running the '03 speed GT cup?

I do not know if the GMG Porsche will be making it to the eastern events... I havent had a chance to speak with them about it. However, from what I HAVE heard from other companies, if the GMG car were to show up, even with a "fresh" motor, it would be the least of your worries. :-)
There are some SERIOUS cars being built right now. Some you will see in April...others not until later in the season.

Nikolas, with all due respect, I don't feel that there is really much to say about the tuner cars beating out the race cars. I think you will find that anyone who brings a SCCA Touring 2 "spec" Lancer Evolution to one of these events get crushed by an Evo owner/shop with a lot of money, good parts, and a good setup. Generally a lot of these race cars have a whole lot of restrictions, where other people have the freedom to "run what they bring", which can make a serious difference.
Obviously this is no disrespect to JIC or AMS, they both have really amazing cars and amazing crews and run very professional organizations. I just don't think it is fair to classify "unlimited" class cars with restricted race cars, no matter the budget.

When the GMG car won the Super Street time attack, people were whining that the Tuner cars had no chance... "The Porsche is a purpose built race car...".. "Look how much money GMG has...."... blah blah blah Making excuses as to why the Tuner cars didnt win...
Now I hear people saying the Tuner cars have the advantage over the race car.... and that it should be no surprise that tuner cars are doing so well....
