Robispec & GSC wins

The restrictor in a WC GT Porsche is worth anywhere from 6-8 whp (we've actually tested it last year). James's Engine was up to spec with a respectable motor (according to him). I've known him for a few years now and he has an excellent crew chief (Todd) and a well set-up car. He runs into the top 5 constantly so don't belittle their performance.
It seems that everyone talks about hp when comparing one car to the next as far as lap time. To those guys it's not a drag race it's not HP that wins (though it sure helps). We had much more power and about equal weight with the GMG car but it was faster...WHY???
Apex speed that's how, that is what determines lap time. The GMG car is a very refined package to the point that it looks slow but that's deceptive because it's so smooth. James has run that car for three years they know it backwards and forwards and are a respectably funded and smart team with a well driven car. Thats why they won.
Contrast that to me driving the AMS car for the first time. I am at the beginning of a very steep learning curve, there are literally seconds left in the AMS cars suspension...stay tuned we'll prove it

Well, that's why he's the driver. He will dial in the suspension based on what he feels while racing it.
