A vehicle may compete in Street Prepared Category if the
preparation of the vehicle has not exceeded the allowable
modifications of Stock Category, except as specified below.
It seems this is the part you are missing, "except as specified below."
Why would they even have a SP class if it was the same as stock? Iam not following you.
SP includes the mods from stock that you can do not the ones you cant.
You are right, you cannot run higher boost in st classes.

to me the part that said "except as specified below" has nothing to do with a boost controller. a boost controaller wasn't talked about till 2 pages later in the rule book. and a boost controller would be a aprroved part which it isn't in the other classes that SP has to follow. i know that they wouldn't just make a class so that you can run a boost controller right? if you have time i would say read the link i post in the other post which will show everything. i only took the stuff that i thought would show my view. you will need to read the whole thing to see were i'm coming from page 87 to page 115 (yes i had alot of time on my hands) and you will see how i got confussed and there is only one line in all those pages that say you can run a boost controller all the other ones say no you can't

I understand that the rulebook is confusing. It took me longer to understand the rulebook than to autox well.
"except as specified below" means
15.1 (All) Authorized Modifications
thru
15.11
even though its not below its on the following pages
Boost regulation systems, either electronic or mechanical,
and electronic fuel cuts referencing boost pressure may be
altered or modified except as prohibited herein. Boost
pressure changes resulting from authorized changes are
permitted.
except as prohibited herein means,
you cant do it by,
4. Turbochargers and/or superchargers (“forced induction”) may
not be added, changed, or modified. On vehicles originally
equipped with forced induction:
a) No hardware changes or alterations to turbocharger(s) or
supercharger(s), in size or number, are permitted.
Which is contained in 15.10 Engine and drivetrain (Authorized modifications)
Hope this helps a little.

my first bold
were does it say that a BC is an Authorized mod? i never read anything saying it was an Authorized Mod?
2nd bold
wouldn't putting on a BC change the amount of boost you will be reciving from a turbo? which would mean you change something that messed with the AFI

"except as prohibited herein" means the ways of controlling boost that they specify ARENT allowed (changing wastegates, pop off valves, exhaust housings (hardware)) within this ruleset are not allowed to control boost, but you can do it electonically (electronic boost controller), or mechanically (manual boost controller). These are the only ways.
