You can cam an STI, it's just more involved (need 4 cams rather than 2 because of the boxer design).

To the OP...your questions are too vague. What do you want to do with car and how much money are you willing to put down?

But if you want a car that will decimate all...hands down Honda Fit with 4 inch exhaust, boost/oil/ AFR gauges, $2k in suspension mods, 19 in chrome wheels, Nankang tires, and a 25 shot of NOS and call it a day..."See ya evo/sti."

I think there ought to be a permanent ban on EVO vs. STI threads. Ultimately, they are all useless. Both great cars. Driver matters way more than car. Both can be very fast. Both can be run on the ragged edge until they explode.

Who gives a rat's a$$?

The only thing you need to know is what Warrtalon said. The guy knows his **** and said it perfectly. I'm sure you will hear the opposite from the STi forums, but it's because both cars are quite capable.

In the end, you will most likely be more satisfied with the Evo simply because of its proven platform. My bro had an STi that he seriously modded. The car was sick. Well, he sold it because of reliability issues and now has an Evo IX. Enough said. Go with what makes you happy, but the Evo crowd is partial to our car. It's not a bad choice either way, but I think the Evo wins this arguement.

oh ok

Alright, thx. This kind of comparison thread is banned? My bad I had no idea, sorry I juss wanted to know from you guys if modding an STI would make a dramatic improvement compared to EVOs but I guess it is apparently not. But according to money? Dont worry bout that I juss wanna know the info and use the pricing of how much it would cost as a preference of knowing. So...basically no1 really answered the question fully since every1 kept on saying "how much you can afford" and stuff but I just wanna know whatll go faster if modded up heavily with parts that would increase its engine to its own advantage of the EVO vs STi

The JGTC subies arent even WRX;s anymore. They're full tube frame and rwd im pretty sure. That like comparing a camry to one of the Nascar cup cars

In T2 specs which only allow for minimum mods ie..ECU tuning, cat-back exh, air filter, struts and R compound DOT tires- which means the car is pretty close to stock, the STI has a slight handling advantage (but only at the limit) and the Evo has a power advantage. The handling advantage applies more to the 05 STI which allows for more rear bias in the diff. So what does this actually mean at the track? It means the STI will have the advantage in corner apex and exit speed but the Evo usually has the power to make up the difference. So in the end, they both turn very close to the same lap times. In other words- the actual track used could be the difference.

What Marty is saying in such an oh so moddest way.... evo kicks butt but things can happen during racing which gives STi a chance. Get em next season Marty...lol

i like my evo, it is fast. some people like stis, they are fast. you should probably start looking for a good paying job if you want either one. neither is very cheap. oh, and buy a house first, chicks dig a guy with a house.
