Here's your answer. That's the same thing I remember reading a while back.
Also, JDM doors aren't all aluminum.

To continue to hijack this thread... ;-)

Does anyone know the absolute weight of the stock door? Am I going to have to just suck it up and pull one of my doors off to figure this out?

I have round numbers... I weighed my stock doors with no interior plastic and they weighed 52lbs for the fronts so... a full stock front door is about 55-56lbs

the rear door weighed 46lbs so prob 48lbs full.

So, just to be clear, rear doors are 48lbs with glass, window mechanisms, and everything? Or are you quoting weight without window materials?

How much do your new Seibon carbon doors weigh?

Thanks, just wanted to verify.

I was told the opposite, that the IX doors were heavier because they had more reinforcement. At least now I know I don't have to swap doors. . .

Is that a bolt-in cage? Not to preach at you, but if you're running the car as hard and as fast as I assume you are, you really should reconsider the cage.

I have seen bolt-in cages rip clean out of the mounting points and do almost nothing to protect the car's occupants. I can post some pictures of a bolt-in cage in one of our old BMWs that pushed so far over from a side impact that if there was a passenger they would have broken both legs.

I wouldn't race with anything but a properly designed and fabricated weld-in cage.

Just my $0.02.
