Keep in mind if you're buying a 'small' race car, you can get away with a relatively lightweight trailer so you're towing capacity will need to be ~4,000#s. I bought a 16' open-deck trailer, and I can fit my trailer (with car on top) and another car in our standard size garage. With a miata, vw, GTX or other small car, you can get away with a 14' and maybe even a 12' if the rear bumper hangs off a bit.

If you're thinking full race car, I've also got this for sale, but its not really daily driver friendly like my miata is:

Miata -- way fun to drive, but cheap to buy and run.
