2008 BSP Discussion
I've been meddling. I need to re-tune it for my new LICP and 3" exhaust, but I can get a decent road tune in it. I really need to schedule some dyno time to do it right.
I do need to catch up on ROM disassembly. They've found a whole boatload of new tables since I did mine. They're collecting all of them for a new version of ECUFlash; once that comes out I was going to really spend some time getting everything right.

If you'd like just email me your ROM and I can add all the updated stuff that has been found plus smooth out what's in the ROM now as far as the fuel and ignition tables so that when you re-tune the maps it'll be that much easier.
Who need's a dyno?? I've done all my tuning on the road, including several 700 to 800+ hp Evos that I've built. I know there is a whole discussion on the benefits and drawbacks of both road tuning and dyno tuning but, I'm of the camp that a road tune is much more indicative of what the engine will see as far as airflow and load than a dyno could replicate. I will say though that dyno tuning is MUCH easier than road tuning since the car never moves off the dyno and runs can just be done over and over again with little to worry about as far as the surroundings (ie. other cars, cops, weather/road conditions, bambi).
I am looking into getting a dynapack system so that I can do both to a single car (dyno plus road tune).
Oh and I just may have a set of stock struts for you. There not Bilsteins though.

Hmmm... maybe I'll make a trip up there once it warms up this spring. My power mods are just about done. I'd like to do the O2 housing, but it's really a PITA, and I don't have the time or energy right now. The only other SP legal mods I can do are either worthless at this point (intake, UICP) or way outside my budget (intake/exhaust manifolds).
Perfect than, because the one set of struts I have 2 of the shocks have seen better days. There yours if you want them.
Just give me a call when you want to get some work done on your car. Are you ever going to really campaign that sucker in BSP or just stick with the Solstice for awhile (until you get a jacket perhaps :-) ).

For next year at least I'm sticking with the Solstice. That car hated HPT - it handled like crap every time we drove it there. I'm hoping at Lincoln it will feel a little more at home.
What were your lateral numbers? From the integrated data / video but it looked to be hovering around 0.9 to 1.1g.
Thanks,

lateral g's were around 1.15 for most of the turns. we had a weird tire setup on the car though after blistering one of the fronts for some reason.
And you know there are good local places for that too!

BMWCCA at Devens last May...SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much fun!
Kinda jealous of the west coast boys right now. We have a great tri-state autox scene out here though.

How bad is it to bounce the car off the rev limiter. My last autocross I kept backing off before it hit 7000 but I think I was losing time from slowing down/letting off the gas too soon.
Modern soft touch rev controls are pretty safe. We've "used the limiter" quite a bit for our autocross cars over the years and we've yet to pop a motor while sitting in the limiter.
The guy that owns them wants $100 for them, are you ok with that?
