2008 Rally Sweden Discussion Thread

Torrents should be out for this rally at rallytorrents.com and racing underground tonight for Day 1. Discuss your views of the rally. I am rooting for P-G Andersson with Monster Tajima's new Suzuki World Rally Team for all hes done for Evo's in japan. Their site has the sickest group-N evo I have ever seen. It might be Hirvonen's rally due to his local knowledge........or Loeb may dominate again.
I started this thread because I saw the good reception to the last thread I made about WRC. It is nice to know that there are those that are still interested in rally on these forums.

Thanks all.....

You can listen to stuff live via WRC radio at
http://www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=320

Most up to date stuff

Updates in written form on the main WRC site, according to that I don't think its Loeb's year, especially after stage 4 LOL! Don't want to be a spoiler.

Hirvonen and Gali are the best two out there so I am hoping for the best with them both.

To Makkinen,
:checks WRC site, refreshes page to see if the stuff is true: who would have thought that Latvala would have been the rally leader.....this season is WIN for its unpredicability, damn, maybe tomorrow, we will be watching older brother Henning continue to out do Petter...

Sweden is the fastest rally in the WR Championship. Its really crazy how they maintain such high average speeds there. More traction than gravel events for one I guess.

Those tires they use are just incredible. I have a set of Michelin C5 tires, which were probably used for WRC stuff 5+ years ago (4" wide, 300 studs/tire), and you have more grip on ice with those than you've got with race slicks on asphalt. Truely eye popping the first time I had them out on the lake.

I was happy to see Galli on the podium and cheers to Latvala for his first win. Ford is looking to pick up where it left of with Gronholm's departure. PWRC was exciting as well, vids on the WRC site. That live radio on WRC is nice, like listening to a ball game, if you can catch it with the time zone differences.

Enjoy
