Jacks...Jack Stands...and what not
I only use my jack and stands a few times a year for oil changes as well as changing wheels/tires and just did my brakes.
I have a Torin and it's been used a handful of times, not much at all. The disk that contacts the car came right off and stuck to the underbody of my car when I lowered the car back down. I'm now using a wood block in its place, which works fine considering the amount of pressure between the jack arm and car underbody holding it in place.
Apparently the pin in my jackstand came out on one side when I was doing the brakes this weekend and I didn't notice before putting the car down on it. It still supported the car (thank god) but got bent a bit.
Sounds like new jack and stands for Christmas this year for me...

I think I'm pretty much sold on the AFF 200T, but wondering does it have any sort of warranty?

Yes the AC is VERY nice, as long as someone else is bringing it to the track.

Most have the torrin HF or Pepboys alum jacks, but I've been seeing more of this type for better mobility and stability.

Heres the jack I use at home, its an ARCAN, apperantly sold at costco:

It is extremely, extremely heavy. but its got a low jacking point, two hydraulic cylinders (= very little amount of effort and less pumps to get up to its highest. ~5-6 pumps with the car on it) and the thing is indestructable, been using it for over 6 years, no trouble with it.
Jackstands are sears suv units, god for 3 tons each, they also have been with me for over 6 years, with allot of use.
At the track / auto-x, its a harbor freight aluminum jack, and I never have to get under the car, so I dont bring stands. If I need to get under the car, I borrow

I remember paying 109$ for em a, but it seems harbor freight's been bumping up the price over the years, they now cost 160$..
i have the harbor freight one as well. only bad thing about it is that you can't lift the car high enough to place jack stands under at a decent height.
best to just use the ramps and then put the jackstands underneath.
