Simulated rally car build.

This is a work in progress. I will finish it and update it as time and everything permits. This is just to see how much it would cost me to build a car myself. I must warn you if you start reading this I am a detail man and quit long winded. Maybe this will help others too if they want to build thier own cars and can't decide to build are buy. I will have to make calls and such to junk yards for the car parts, but all new parts will come with links you can look at.

I'll continue this thread by updateing this original post each day till its finished. Each day I will add broken lines to show this day is finished, such as this:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 1, "21 May 2008"

Purchased the car. Its a 96 eagle talon RS in a ranger green color. It has a 2.0 "420a" motor. Twin cam 16 valve makeing around 140 h.p. Price is $2,800 tax, tages and title.

I'll work on this more tonight, got some thing I need to do rite now though.

No matter how you add it up, it costs close to $10k to build a rally race'able car. It doesn't matter if you do most of the building yourself or if you pay somebody like me to build it for you. A few seasons back we built a Production Class Focus. The car was free to the owner and he still spent close to $12K before it ever saw the trails.
Rally is so much fun, but don't kid yourself - IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
Don't forget that there are only two types of rally drivers - Those that have hit the trees and those that will!

Yea thanks but everyone has talked me out of it. Even if I had a car and you gave it too me I still couldn't race according to what everyone else has told me, this is for car manufactures to push there cars by my quess. Too much to race.
