Aaron was real strong at the Milwaukee Tour. Only one of two people to outpax me on Sunday.

Heh, thx for bringing that to my attention, Jarrod--I just sent an e-mail to Nancy to fix that, as I'm working on a tire warm... er, co-driver to assign my other # to.

Looks like a small turnout this year--$4/gal appears to be having an effect...

Although you registered first, you may want to consider running a different # in the name of sportsmanship. I believe Vic has been #99 for at least the past 2 years. I guess it is first come first served. Personally I'd allow a returning racer to run the same # as last year if he wanted to.

I know I'd be pretty ticked off if someone took my # . . .

The clubhouse looks like a nice place, unfortunately they were booked solid Wed night. So we are gonna stay at the Sleep Inn. Works out since we have friends there who can drive us around. I don't feel like changing tires every night.

So we'll see how brutal it is driving 1350 miles in a Pro2000 with no cruise control.

That's because you're on the super soft STU index buddy :P

Note to powers that be: There should be a separate waiver form to sign to watch Pat launch in the damp. It's simply disgusting!

ok...so "Pick the Winners" is up on sccaforums. Tom Berry has the lions share of votes for BSP. Lieber and Hoops have some for SM, but I think Sias has more. I think Wasburn and Ridgick are at the top of STU.

Dan and I have a couple of votes...probably from friends is my guess, cause I'm not exactly sure we have the speed to catch Aaron or Tom.

I'm getting excited for this trip, wanted to go 2 years ago and didn't, absolutely couldn't go in 07 and finally have a chance to go.

I do keep hearing about this "one line" deal. Does HPT really suck that bad? My understanding is you have an option if running early on day 1 but day 2 is basically staying on line and out of the sand.

I'm not sure if I can make it. I may have to go to TN on 9/12-13 and that won't give me tenough ime to drive to H.P. I'd love to come and mess up those STU predictions.

it's not as bad as people make it out to be. A small mistake might turn into a slightly bigger mistake. But in general the turns that people tend to drive differently are pretty clean. When you walk course you can see the spots that you really don't want to screw up in (mostly the slaloms).

I think most of the complaining comes from people showing up to HPT with their old forbes uber stiff/loose concrete setups. But i never went to forbes so i don't know. The people who do well at HPT don't complain as loud as the people who don't.

People always look for something to ***** about. Even two years ago I didn't think the sand was that bad, really no worse than when the wind would pick up out at DIA. For all the pissing and moaning, it doesn't seem to have hurt registration numbers, down only about 5% over the previous year. Personally I think the HPT surface is a separator as it sorts out the really good drivers....IMHO.

So, does anyone alter their normal asphalt setups for HPT?

Based on what I have been hearing from friends and local lots that compare to HPT I've thought about dropping my front spring rates marginally for the "less grippy" HPT surface.
