US drivers that should get a test...

4) Graham Rahal
5) AJ Allmendinger
6) Conner Daily
7) Tony Stewart (getting too old and would have to loose 40lbs)

Those are just a few names I would consider off the top of my head... I realize this list is subject to serious debate, but some of those guys are serious wheelmen whether you want to agree with me or not.
The only way I see Danica getting a shot is the fact that she would bring great marketing to any F1 team, I just think her driving warrants it.

pick any 2 off that list and i don't even think they possess the ability to beat the Force India drivers around the track

I would agree to an extent. I was trying to think of other American drivers I would give a test to before Danica. Thats all... there in no order either.

Ken Anderson is the other gentleman thats partners with Peter Windsor in the new USF1. Did any of you catch the press conference yesterday? I saw a few minutes of it when I was home for lunch.

As long as there is a Felipe Massa or Fernado Alonso or Lewis Hamilton around, there isn't room on the front row of the grid for anyone else. I'm not hating on Danica......... Well actually I am hating on Danica. She sucks on the pro level but atleast she's attractive!!!!
Shes only attractive after crew of artists airbrush the siht out of her.

The same can be said about most models. They tend to look like normal people when they aren't dolled-up.

And as far as the press conference, there were some comments made that rubbed me the wrong way. Anderson says, "Most of the technology in F1 comes from the US to begin with." Huh??? Does he mean the origins of some of this technology? There are alot of angry Europeans screaming right now....

If size and age weren't an issue, Gordon, Stewart, and Jimmie Johnson would all be good choices. They've proven they can drive anything with wheels and win. Unfortunately I don't think 40 year old guys are going to be hopping into F1 cars any time soon.

I really don't know who I'd put in a US F1 car. I'd want someone that came up through the sprint car ranks, who has won at all levels...

I for one am extremely excited with this news; sure you all are too, but I did like alot of what Peter had to say about how to sell F1 in the states and have a "touch and feel" F1 team! I'm sold already.

All fine and dandy, I just home American fans give it enough support, Even though USF1 is going to one of the last ones for couple years. I sure hope America doesn't turn its back on F1 like it did with soccer

Ego runs ramped in F1, it might not always shine threw in press conferences but it is always there.

I would really like to see a usa F1 time not use any seasoned Nascar drivers, i think to a degree Nascar ruins drivers for real racing.

And before everyone jumps down my throat, i do realize that there are Nascar drivers do race and win in other race series. But i think there is a huge difference from the level it takes to race in F1 then the level of the other series's that the Nascar drivers compete in

The best drivers go where the money is. In the US, that's NASCAR.

All things considered, I doubt most of the NASCAR guys would want to go into F1, anyway. Maybe some of the younger guys.

I think that applies both ways though. I personally hate Indy and Nascra... uh.... car, but it does take skill and a set of big nads to maintain control in those ovals. Not my cup of tea but I can't totally dismiss the driving talent there.

Just read on Planet-F1 that Honda is off to Jerez to test the 09' car... Claims are their close to being bought. I hope that is the case, I don't want to see an 18 car grid. Also, heard they will be running Mercedes engines...

Yea, I've been "giddy as a school girl" since I read about this. Thanks for the info guys .... Now only if F1 could get Honda to return
