Even the motion isn't as uniform as native HD programming. During the next race just switch to a good HD broadcast like HD Theater and the difference is astonishing.
I have Verizon FiOS which was a big step up from my cable in terms of picture quality and clarity. There is virtually no compression when compared to my old cable which many people complained about once they started adding more channels.
Also just because your box says it is displaying 720p or 1080i doesn't mean that the programming was recorded in that resolution.
It is like if you watch evening news in HD. The studio portions will be in crystal clear HD but a lot of the field cameras are still low def. When they switch to reports, your TV is still displaying in 720p or 1080i (which ever you choose) but the image was recorded in 480.
Perhaps my eyes are just more sensitive. The broadcast is sharper due to being upscaled as any source would be. However if you watch NASCAR or any other native HD material you can tell that a lot of detail in the F1 broadcasts are missing. Most notably the edges of objects and small details such as logos or small track side objects don't "pop out" like they do on a full HD broadcast.

What so you guys think of the new STR driver? I think he's going to get killed out there on Sunday. He's never really driven an F1 car before, only done straight line testing. Never been on a real track. I don't know why they would put him in the car... I would have atleast called on someone with some experience.

I forgot to record practice, did i miss anything? Who was looking fast?

I didn't watch the whole thing yet but I read Hami was quickest. The entire field is very close, quali is going to be a tight race tomorrow. Should be good...
I just read he had a fist size dent in his helmet and a cut above his left eye. You can see from the onboard his face smack his steering wheel on impact. I don't think the driver should be able to move that far forward...
That spring had to have been carrying a serious amount of energy with it when it hit, that is leading to the fastest turn on the track.
I guess it will be Luca Badoer who will race? He's the reserve as far as I know.
That was some serious confusion at the end when no one knew who was on pole.
