Rally NY 4/3/09

Hello everyone, Rally NY is coming up in about a month and is looking to be a good time. Evo's are well represented and there will even be a Ex WRC Focus (AWD) running. Here is the link

http://www.rallynewyork.net/rnyusa2009.html

Here is the entry list

Anyone interested in going, think about Marshalling. you get better access to the cars and teams as well as better placement to view the race as you are out on the course. You'll see things regular spectators never will.

Wow this looks like all tarmac rally. I would go but I've never been to a rally before. I had my fair share of autocrosses and track days but the only thing I know about rally is what I see on TV and I always enjoy watching the tarmac rallies. Would this be recommended for a first timer?

The rally is very well organized. Spectator points are excellent but again you will have more fun Marshaling. Its work but the afterparties are a blast and depending on where you are stationed you will see things happen that no spectators even know went on out on the stages. Yes it is an all tarmac event.

It will be a good time. Everyone pretty much stays at one hotel some camp.

But if you take Friday off you get 2 days of cars and a three day weekend!

We usually figure about a case of beer per person per night at minimum. Last year my buddy and I walked in, I had the bags and he had the 4 cases of beer. Beer is good after a day of marshaling LOL. We made a beer pyramid for the cleaning lady and left her a few cold ones in the trashcan full of ice.

If you marshal you get a hotel discount and they let you come to the awards ceremony dinner. Plus you meet some intersting people and get a shirt.

Ken Block's registration just got added today.
