Rally NY 4/3/09
#31
Yes I will be running my first Rally at Rally NY. The car ran a few times last year with the builder Jose Vicente behind the wheel. It is a great car from the build quality stand point. It is not near as fast, has much smaller brakes and sits a lot higher LOL than what I am used too. However, I am really looking forward to a new experience. My co-driver is a great guy that has been running as long as I have been road racing. Having him to show me the ropes definitely makes me feel more confident. Here are a few articles that I wrote regarding hill climbing, don't miss the videos at the end http://http://www.audiworld.com/news/06/audibmw-duryea/content.shtml and my vintage car http://http://www.audiworld.com/news/08/hershey-hill-climb/
Thanks for the support guys and please introduce yourself if I see you in NY.
Jeremy, email me if you are going, so we can hookup. I will be ready to get a little ****ty Sat. night.

I did the Rally New York a Few Times back in the Day.. It can be craze fast in some parts 100+ MPH on pavment is not that strange..
The key to going fast here; is to stay in the center of the road, listion to the Notes & "Do Not Lift" any more then you need to..... It's a great rally !!

Thanks Tommy. I feel pretty good about the high speed stuff having a hill climb backround. Last year at Duryea I was the fastest car across the finish out of over 100 competitors. The navigator thing is way new to me however. I am really looking forward to building up that part of the equation.
Thanks again

Thanks Jeremy. Since you guys we're talking about me I figured I would sign up. Jeremy you know me as an Audi guy but I have had a few EVOs in the past. It's great to see a forum that is so active.

Yes the car was Jose's from quattrohaus. I knew the car when he was building it and he had sent me an email about selling it a few weeks ago. I love the build quality of the car. Not sure if I will be able to get used to the lack of torque, but I am going to give it a shot.
The Ur is a great car. It is truly a great piece of Audi history. It is amazing for its age it is still a blast to drive and even competitive in the right environment. However it will be staying home for Rally NY.
Thanks for the support.

2 days, I'm hoping to be over this cold, working sick sucks. Not that I haven't don it before. Just have to put down some extra beer to fortify the system at the end of the day.

There is an interview tonight that might shed some inside light on what went down at Rally New York 2009 for HAR Racing and Driver Technologies.
It's at 6pm PST @ www.drivingsports.com
