Pacific Raceways (Seattle) video and pics
Finally got a chance to run my car on a beautiful dry day on the BFG R1's with the splitter in place and all the other crap I've been working on.
This was pretty much a shakedown of lots of parts, and the second time the car has been on track since the motor build. The first time out this year it was raining, I ran all-seasons, and I found issues with crankcase pressure and my catch can, that was on pump gas and 24 psi. I fixed those things and moved onto E85 and 28 psi. I missed a track day with fuel issues related to my wideband and fuel pumps on E85. But with all that sorted it was finally time to hit Pacific Raceways for the first time this year.
On the drive up to the track on the freeway I noticed the car was hyper twitchy. This was the first time I had driven at speed on the wide track front end with the BFG R1's. My alignment had a touch of toe-out in the front, and although it had been fine on my street tires I found it too nervous with the R1's. So I made a mental note that I was going to take it easy on the kink and first turn at the track and put on my to-do list to remove the toe-out.
Out in the first session I quickly found that the Forge BOV I had was doing me wrong. With traffic in the session and me being rusty on finding the line I was driving with lots of part throttle. The car was out of control and completely distracting, it was surging and bucking like a rodeo bull. Add to that a coolant spill on the track and I couldn't hit an apex to save my life. I also found that I was rubbing a front tire on the lip of the fender. When we came in from the session I was ready to shoot my car, I guess I had expected it to be perfect and it was being a real pain in the ****.
Luckily I had my stock plastic BOV with me and swapped it out for the Forge. It dropped boost from 28 psi to 24 psi, but fixed the surging issue. With the tire rubbing and alignment issue I just focused on finding the line again and driving smooth for the rest of the day - and added things to my list of things to fix. In the last session of the day my vortex generator peeled off the car on the front straight. Luckily it didn't get hit.

Good paper weight.

^^^ I've done that too. The day I missed due to fueling issues I went out and went for some rides, and looked at my car parked in the paddock. That was a lame use of $200, no refunds within a week of the event.

More from this week...
Car is doing much better. APS solved the surging issue. I still have rubbing issues though. Probably need to do the "wide mod" to the fenders. Finally getting up to speed and now I always just catch the cars in my class too quickly. But I'll bump up into the next group the next time out with either of the clubs I've been running in.
Need to do some suspension adjusting now that the car is up to speed.
Video is of the only open laps I got all day... Ran into an audible boost leak at the end of the last session.
