This is the Lotus I was racing that spun out and got hit head on by a Mazda....well here is the video from a trailing car.......the driver of the lotus is ok, the driver of the Miata broke his neck but should recover ok.

That's why we race on track and not street. If these drivers didn't have saftey equiptment such as helmets, the would most likely not have come out of that crash alive.

OMG! Hey Marty, do you know about when the Lotus had spun relative to when that corner worker threw out the waving yellow? I cant see when the Lotus spun, but it appears that the Miata driver didnt really have a chance to see the waving yellow. I say that because by the time the waving yellow was thrown out the Miata was at around corner-exit.

Hard to say, this all happened about 5-10 seconds behind me. It's hard to see that flag sometimes when you are in such an intense battle and so close to the car in front of you. This is just one of those worse case scenerios you hope never happens. Good thing both drivers were wearing a Hans device.
