H.A.R. racing Official practice day
H.A.R. racing Official practice day
Well, I was going to wait for the day to happen but I'm too stoked about it. We have rented out a local racetrack, and more importantly the 600 acres worth of gravel and dirt roads surrounding it in order to have a full practice day for the car. We have a few other teams coming up to join us for the day and the weather looks like it will be beautiful, 80 and sunny. I will try to have some pics and vids up Friday evening after the testing but if not they will be up by sunday at the latest.
It is going to be a great weekend with the BBQ, some racing and alot of my good friends in attendence. We will ahve lots of cameras so lots of good shots of rally cars doing their thing. I leave it off with a video recce of one of the roads on the property that we will be using taken by r.m.s. awhile back.

yeah this will be our first official practice day. I like the way the team progress.
I think we will be ready for our first official rally year in 2010.
We take our time on the preparing, and 2009 is dedicated for the team set up and the car build.. Also we got great individuals and sponsors with us.
So i'm really happy , finally find my place in the US

Ok, long day in the hot sun of practice here in upstate NY. I'll do a full write up tommorrow but here are the basics. we got some good testing and practice in. The AMR engineering suspension that we got worked perfectly. We just got it in last night and it handled the punishment flawlessly. The braking system from AMS Performance also withstood everything that was thrown at it without any issues. Not everything did however.
The Master cylander for the clutch failed after a good number of runs and ended our day early. The car performed beautifully other than that and we had a great time getting out to do the testing and hanging out with Randy Zimmer while he flogged his subie and Tom and Brian Barton with their 323.
There will be more pics and vids but here is a little sample with some out of and in car video. enjoy.

Yeah the AMR stuff was great and very easy to instal and adjust. We threw them up in no time! The machinery work looks amazing! They are top notch. I couldn't wait to see what they could do so I took the car out to get a feel when we got done at 1ish am and it was a good wake up! These things rock! Made in US, the warranty, the durabilty!
I put short clips from marshalling today on my YouTube channel. My camera died so there from my cell... It's what evs.
Great day Zimmer rips Bartons aren't charcoaled filtered and We now officially stand for HAR... "Half Assed Racing"

Sept is the next one. Either Friday the 11th or the following Friday. Have a meeting with the owner Monday to go over scheduling. Some very interesting possiblilities if we can get something regular going on with the track. They do have 600 acres just sitting around unused....

Randy Zimmer... The Legend has great footage of the Practice day below including a cast of characters which was weird at the time... I had no Idea what he was doing and I was a little camera shy lol

I'll have the full write up and more video soon. Looking to find who got regular pictures. Seems like everyone was taking video

this weekend was a great weekend for sure. Practice with other teams is just priceless.
Also we got to test the AMR suspension. Which worked perfect ! I didn't get it right set up yet, since the clutch master cylinder failed on us. But the suspensions is superb.
I'm looking forward to see how i can run it in the race.
The AMS brake kit , also worked seamlessly. No over heating or so. The brake force is just unbelievable.
Also thanks for all the sponsors + the great people who show up at the practice days.
I can say we got a great bunch of guys out there. I do really appiciate they effort and help. Without them it just wouldn't worked.
Some of the guys you might know:
Like Brenden, R.M.S
Logan Ghostofmakkinan.
etc.
Thanks again, I cant wait for the next year when we will start our first race year officially.

No rear brake solution yet. Fortunately the Master cylander is sourcable off a regular lancer.
Ok so here is the write up. the night before we (myself, r.m.s., Jeff from BRI auroengineering and some friends all got the suspension and a few other odds and ends finished up on the car. Rob, Zsanett, Peter, Kate and Tim got in earlier than expected so I had to skip out to get them situated where they were sleeping.
Friday morning we all made it to Jeff's shop by 8:15 and then headed over to the track while Jeff, Brenden and some other worked on a few last minute issues. The Bartons were already there waiting for us and we were let into the track aroun 9:30. We got set up and the drivers and codrivers went out and figured out the course they wanted to run. We had to wait a bit more for the race gas to show up but we had everything in full swing by noon. Next time we will have it going by 9am but gotta learn from the first time anyway.
Right off the bat Zimmer's car was having some issues in that it wouldn't rev past 4500rpm. He and Jeff got on that as Rob/Zsanett and the Bartons got to doing some runs. we took times and had marshals placed where they needed to be, some with fire extinguishers and all with radios to keep the environment safe. Zimmer's car was back in action and everyone got some good practice runs in.
We ran into our problem with the master cylander and tried to find a replacement for that day but to no avail. The other crews got some more runs at the speedway before heading down to the forest road for testing. with the car out of commission we all enjoyed doing some marshalling/spectating as they got their practice in. It was a hot day and everyone was pretty worn out by the end but happy that things had gone well over all. The Barton's car which had been the only one with no issues over the day finally called it quits with a dead fuel pump 3 miles down the road from the track.
We thank the other teams for coming and AIS for letting us use the place. Good day at the track and better to have a dead master cylander now than at BRS. Had a nice BBQ at home afterward and relaxed a bit from the long day with the team and the kids, so good day. I'll have more vids and pics up shortly, waiting on some pics from people as I have mostly video. Looking forward to the next test day.
