Car Interior Prep Help

Hey guys I was just wondering what you did to prep your interiors?

Im stripped and caged but some of that nasty tar stuff is still hangin out in the back by the fuel pump covers. I also wanted to know how you are keeping your intrerior clean? Mine is filthy all the time regardless of what I do

I was thinking of doing some aluminum work to cover up the trunk area from the drivers compartment also.

Does anyone have pics/advice for this?

For the Tar stuff, you can spend the cash on dry ice, which will freeze it some and it'll chizle up in chunks, or use a heat gun and melt it off, or if your the hulk, just chizle it off by hand. A Close out panel is a good idea, i'm looking to do the same at some point. As far as "dirty" - if it's clean all the time, you arn't racing enough

There are several threads depicting "Evo Stripping" in and around so a quick search will land you some picture examples.

Time to get solvent with some chemical gloves in a ventilated area to remove the residue. Up here in the northeast I left the car out overnight in -10 degrees temperatures and the sound proofing came off in clean sheets. The car was only a couple years old so it came off very easily. The harder project is the under body sealant which takes a lot of elbow grease to remove if you are not acid dipping the entire shell. The under body sealant can attract oil and sand which can become a fire ball if the car ever catches on fire.

i actually was not planning on removing that. I guess I might, I did not realize it was a fire hazard.. are there any weight savings to be had?
