Rally Enthusiasts!
The reason you have so many people rallying Subarus is b/c the platform since 1994 has had car that "Mr. Potato head" with the more modern cars. Subaru also offers contingency money to people racing their products. There's usually on site parts support so if you happen to break something you don't have a spare for, you're likely to be able to go buy what you need....or borrow it from another competitor.
Racing an Evo means you need a 2003 or newer, and no help from corporate. Its not that they're not good rally platforms, its simply cost driving most people's decisions. Hell, Evo's took 1st & 2nd in the rally america series this year, right?
I've been looking to get into rallying, but I see no need to try and chase the top guys on a budget that's 1/100th of what they're spending. Simply put, privateer teams should be supporting the series that's supporting them....go MaxAattack!

There's a hillclimb section I added recently to dirtyevo.com that you may enjoy populating
IMO, no tuners have the budget to spend the $1m plus needed for a full blown top level RA effort. I think the key to doing it right is find funding (hit the lottery, nail a double back flip, or make your own fortune) then find a shop that is good in whatever racing arena you're racing in.
I would love to help in any way possible, let me know. I am in Michigan but frequently am looking for excuses to go out east and see my family, so anywhere in the midwest or east let me know

Also 2003 was 7 years ago.... The Subarus they running the Rally not much, if they older. You can get an Evo shell cheap today. Besides the DSM is well over here before that. Fact i think it came a same year as a first WRX, if not sooner. THats about the money side from Mitsubishi vs subaru.
I do not think i actually explain myself clearly , based on you guys answere here.
Im talking about the total lack of knowlidge about the Rally, in this and other Mitshubishi sites vs the Subaru. If people would know more about rally , you can bet on it you would see MUCH more people on the side of the Rally or the hill climbs etc.
Lets face it, most people buys EVo because they are COOL , not because they actually know what they buy really. Most of them learns in here what is the Evo about if they come down to the Motorsport section.
Really not iteresting the car is build for racing pruposes, and the racing threads actually is the very bottom on the page? Below the following sections:
- EVoM forums... daaaa....

- EVolution X forum
- evolution 1-9 forum
- lancer Ralli art forum
- Lancer forum
- market place
- vendor forum
- COMPETITION

- US regional forums
- miscellaneous....
And of course all the sub sections in each section. Hell i needed at leats 2 months before i actually find the rally section in here , when i signed up...

Anyway im sure you guys get where im goin with this... The first sections should be esaly swapped with the competition one without any harm or lost interst... But maybe gain some knowlidge about they own car whe they see the Competition section, including - auto X - drag - time attack - road race - hill climb - rally etc....
I have spoken enough .

I've been fortunate to work with AMS every year we've run our car and they always go the extra mile. Couldn't ask for a better group to be associated with.

I grew up in New England, so I'm actually trying to decide between MWHC and PPIHC for 2011. Unfortunately they're both on the same weekend.

Skipp the Pikes peak this time. You did and will run it. But this event should be a great one too. How many times you will have an opurtunity to run it?
I'll will do it ZFOR SURE. As long as they accept my entry i'll be there , for me its done deal.
If you need a service crew, i might/99%/ can get you in, one of the best in the Rally .
I hope i can convince them to come up with me there, if they do not have an other /rally teams with more much more money/ obligation. If they dont come /i doubt it though/ i still can and will get some guys together for service, and they are great and enthusiastic.
Either way you should run this. And finally i meet you in person LOL
Look ,Dave , im comming forma considered here as a poor country. ?sometimes they even ask we did have a Micro when i came here ... LOL/

Yes, Mitsu has a contingency program in the Canadian Rally Championship:
