Headlight covers for track day use?

Aside from taping over headlights to protect them from rocks and debris, are there plastic headlight covers available to offer better protection?

I ask as I'd like to track my Evo next year and want to protect the headlights as best I can. Supposedly, new headlight units cost $1200 each

I think lancer shop has CF overlays. Or buy lamin-x protecitve film, they sell pre-cut units

there are carbon covers... i run them on our race car. but i don't have headlights, i just use the covers to replace the lights. replacement headlights are nowhere near 1200 dollars to replace. you can pick up good used ones for 200 tops. with that said, i've done a ton of track days and never had an issue with my unprotected headlights getting rock chips.

The headlights are Polycarbonate, they are tough as nails. If you crack a headlight you hit something that is going to be a much bigger problem.

Just buy the clear Lamin-X covers if you're really worried. Or check out the Private for sale section and see how much used ones are.

I have some rock chips in mine. Its more of a sharp dent then a chip. Noticeable when the HID beams hit the spots. I think a cover would be 10x better than a thin laminate.

I've already lost two windshields on track .. I'm surprised I haven't bashed in a headlight.

I had the 3m covers installed by a tint shop cause I'm lazy. They worked great i assume since I had a few rock chips and a cracked windsheild (damn GT3's always goin off in front of me!!) no issues whatso ever
