Track Gear

What do you guys have/wear for track days?

Helmet: Arai Rx-7
Gloves:N/A
Shoes: Adidas Good year

i need to buy new gear for track since;
1. my helmet is due for a change
2. MR shift knob, sweaty hands.. Fail
3. shoes are too narrow for heel and toe

Im in the market for some new gear, and Im no means a pro to go spend $ on gear that i use 6 times a year

So im interested to see what you guys have and recommend regarding track gear

For just DE's? Wear whatever is the most comfortable. Pyrotect helmets are very comfortable and cheap, gloves wise just about any of them work, shoe wise again whatever works and is comfortable. If your looking at getting serious then piece together parts that are nomex and a helmet that can use a HANS or similar.

Helmet: HJC AR-10, have a Pyrotech open face but it's mainly used by passengers
Gloves: Sparco somethings
Shoes: Sparco Super Speedways, will be replaced soon as the sole is falling off, I'm glad I didn't pay retail on them
I'd suggest paying a bit more for a decent helmet and shoes since you'll be spending most of the day in them.

I've been thinking about getting some Alpinestar stuff too, I've heard nothing but good things.

I just use piloti shoes, your standard Mechanix gloves, and a G-force helmet.

I use a G-Force helmet and it's fit and wore nicely. Shoes I just have some Puma's that work pretty well as they are really thin and I can feel the pedals.

I don't have a suit or gloves yet... shopping them currently too! Looking Sparco but that **** is pricey!

That's the 5 year window that the helmet is rated for. You should go 2010 at this point FOR SURE!

^ I don't think so...not quite yet. I'm waiting for them too....tired of my open face helmet.

I like my Alpinestars gloves and my Piloti shoes are pretty good.

Myles loooves his Alpinestars suit. I think he sleeps in it.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Helmet: HJC CL-SP (very light weight, very comfortable, lots of vision)
Gloves: RJS Single-layer (nice leather grip area)
Shoes: Pumas or something like them.

Helmet:

Gloves:

Shoes:

I'd love to have an Alpine* full suit, just so much for them. And I don't think I am quite at that level of racing. Normally where a comfortable pair of jeans, t-shirt with long-sleved UnderArmor type thing on. Cuts down on the sun rays.

Yeah all my gear is from my rally racing days. I have an open face helmet and I'd like to get rid of it and go full face - so I don't have to wear glasses for eye protection. And I'd like to be ready to get a Hans setup.

What I have...

What I would like...

I have a cheap G-Force 3 layer suit, and it passes the real racing requirements (SCCA and NASA) but is really heavy and bulky to wear. The thin Sparco and Alpine Stars are really comfortable to wear, but cost 4X more. That said if I get back into a racing level that requires the suit I'll probably sell the G-Force and get a comfortable baller status one.

I have these gloves.
