I've always wondered about what happens when spectators get hit by a rallycar. I thought they assumed risk by simply being out there and it wouldn't be a driver's fault if anyone got hit.
thats lame! drivers arent always perfect especially on turns so why do they stand there its under there own risk and who cares if he left even if there wouldntve been anyone there he wouldve had to do the same hes in a race hes no paramedic

thats just stupid. So what he left the scene. Should he wait for Cops to arrive ? lolz. Help with injured ? Why, there is more than enough people to help them + medical team. This should teach people not to stand next to the road, especially on the outside of the turn...
Sux they got hurt, but its their own stupidity...

i completely agree. not being cold hearted or anything. but he is probably the person who could help the least. he did what he should have, moved his car off of them. but its not like he has a cell phone on him to call someone. other spectators would. and moving his car gives more room for paramedics. just my .02c

Other hand the driver have to stay and yes call for help, and since he have to have a first aid kit start at least doing something .
Also this is common saying in rally :
"It was the navigator!"
That is an insider joke really.
If you really want to be precise , he can leave if he made sure that no one was injured. Which is we saw , wasn;t the case . He didnt look also there was a serius injury too.
So i would take his racing license away forever.

if i think about this more , i actually would be ending up in a fist fight with that guy, no question.
These type of people can ruin everything for other people .
Like he can make the locals , not wanting to have rally over there anymore..
And for what? because he wants to finish 17th place???
Really??? Understandable his action?
I could care less about these type of people .
I wouldn't even considere them rally drivers.

this is a right attitude and what you have to do, period.

I would not call it the drivers fault completely. I put more blame on the event organizers and marshals for allowing such an unsafe spectating area.
a) the organizers really screwed up by allowing so many spectators on the inside of a fence in an area where the cars could spin out. That's just not safe and that stage should have been delayed or canceled due to crowd control issues. The marshals can close the stage at any time.
b)The specators have to assume some responsibility for their own personal safety. I would have never felt safe with the location of that fence where it was. That was just asking for a darwin award nomination.
If the driver realized at the moment how many people he mowed down, he probably should have stopped. But chances are, in the heat of the spin, he didn't have a clue how many people he hit, only that he spun before the finish losing time, etc...
